«You can’t become popular at school if you have low grades»

Nowadays a lot of people are convinced that pupils cannot be popular if they study badly. Others think that marks do not interfere to popularity.

In my opinion, grades are not important and person can become popular without studying well. First of all, student with low grades can have another talent, for example, he can dance or sing good. So he will be popular at school. Moreover, this person can become popular at school with the help of his good traits. He can be kind, friendly and helpful. Finally, these pupils can become popular at school because teachers always talk about them on lessons.

However, there are people who think differently. They state that students with low grades are not popular because teachers always scold them. Besides, these people are sure that pupils with bad marks are lazy and they do not do anything at all so they cannot become popular at school.

I do not agree with the opponents’ opinion because grades have no significance in being popular, so that students can have successful reputation at school thanks to different skills and abilities.

To sum up, I would like to restate my position and say that popularity at school does not depend on marks.

Students can have low grades but also be good sportsmen or actors and singers and be popular at school.
