The growth of cities is harmful for the environment

Nowadays, the growth of cities is causing big discussions. Some people believe that urbanisation effects the environment negatively, while others say that it is not. Who is right?

In my opinion, the growth of cities is not always harmful. Firstly, the newest technologies allow people to build cities much less polluting. For example, scientists and physics invented cars that work on solar energy and electricity. Secondly, governments of many countries are encouraging volunteer’s work. So a lot of people involved to help animals, collect garbage etc. Finally, cities are growing to solve the problem of homelessness and overpopulation, particularly in big cities.

Although there are people who insist that growth of cities is always harmful for the environment.

The air and water suffer from factories emissions consisting high concentration of toxicity. Moreover, increasing number of cities leads to deforestation that can cause the extinction of plants and animal species.

It is facts, but people realised the harmfulness of urbanisation a long time ago and now they are working on eco-friendly alternative of settlements providing industry.

In conclusion, I would like to say that growth of cities shows industrial and economical progress of a country, but it would be less beneficial if it will bring negative impact on the environment.

The most important thing in life is family.
