Short or long holidays?

There are a lot of children nowadays and they all have to go to school to get a secondary education. Their parents try to make their five or six school years more comfortable for them. That is why the question about holidays is popular nowadays. Here it is «Will it better to have small holidays or just one in summer?». Personally, I believe that it is more effective and productive if there were some small holidays. I would like to discuss all the advantages and disadvantages of both opinions and give reasons for my choice.

Some people guess that children can be tired of studying. In their opinion, if students have small but frequent holidays, they will regain their energy and will be ready to study better.

They will manage not to be tired and bored. And, of course, the will to study will not disappear so fast.

Others believe that students do not need a lot of holidays. They can have one long holiday a year and weekends. If it is so, students will not be disturbed from the educational process. There is a proverb «Business before pleasure». Such people think that to have pleasure for 3 months will be enough whereas to have business for 9 months will be enough. So, their opinion is also understandable.

To my mind, quantity is more important than quality in this issue. Of course, a lot of people would like to have summer holidays, as they are for 3 months and it is longer. Поступаете в 2019 году? However, if people sum up all small holidays, they will have nearly 3 months, too. Besides, small holidays can help children to get a rest after difficult exams during the year.

To conclude, everybody makes their decision according to his or her feelings. I would like to say that we have to think about children, first of all. Their abilities are not always as good as grown-ups think.
