Liberal arts are more important for students than exact sciences or natural ones

There are many people in our society in this day and age who consider liberal arts are more important for students than exact sciences or natural ones. However, some persons do not agree with this statement. Who is right? Let us speculate about it!

To my mind, science and math are more useful for young people than history or literature. To begin with, the first ones develop logical reasoning which will help students at their work in the future. Secondly, people with higher education in sciences and math often are more successful than historians or philologists. It is much easier to get a good high-payed job if you are a programmer or a neuroscientist. In addition to this, professions connected with math and science are considered prestigious nowadays.

Nevertheless, there are people in this world who think differently.

From their point of view, it is more important to be an erudite person than to have a lot of money. Also, students need to study history and literature for fully understanding of our society and processes in it.

Despite of these facts, I cannot agree with the above given opinion. You should live on something, have enough money for food, entertainments etc. Studying history or literature rarely gives such opportunity. However, no one can ban a student to read books on this subject. So, work on developing yourself all your life.

To sum up, I would like to say that students should not concentrate only on one subject. Math, science and liberal arts are equally important for modern education.
