Now pupils have to read a lot as their summer homework, but most of them think that reading during he summer holidays is wrong.

In my opinion, reading expands our world, that is why it is neccessary to make children read. Reading broadens our mind and helps to be more sociable. What is more, we can learn more about the world from the books. It is sometimes impossible to visit various places, but we can read about their history and culture in books.

Finally, pupils should read a lot to pass their school exams. Reading heps to remember the right spelling of he words and improve the vocabulary.

At the same time SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT GIVING CHILDREN HOMEWORK FOR SUMMER IS wrong. They should relax and do everything they want. From their point of view, it would be better to spend summer outdoors playing and entertaining themselves. They also say that most books that teachers make pupils read, are boring, and the children should choose the books to read by themselves.

However, I cannot fully agree with this point of view. I certainly understand that summer is the only time when pupils are free to do whatever they want. Secondly, not every book is so boring as the children think. They can find the one they are interested in.

To sum it up, I would like to say that reading is useful for everyone, especially for young people. Well-read people can support any conversation, thay are more interesting companions.
