Each child should be able to play some musical instrument

Problem of musical education is very important nowadays. It is widely discussed whether or not children should be taught music. Some people agree while others doubt it is true.

I disagree with the statement. Firstly, it is omnipresent that not everyone has an ability to play some musical instruments really well. It can be challenging for children who tend to understand Science or Maths rather than music. Different people have different innate abilities, so each person has to choose his own way. Secondly, I doubt everyone is interested in it. There are so many activities that people can take up, and only a small part of humanity is keen on music. If everyone is involved in creating music there can be no such industry as musical one.

Finally, it takes a lot of time. Learning how to play the piano or clarinet or French Horn or any other instrument is really time-consuming. This time can be spent for something more useful like visiting grandparents or hanging out with friends.

On the other hand, music is thought to develop the creativity. Moreover, it also helps children to learn how to feel and show how to express themselves. It is art, something non-material.

Still, other activities, like drawing or pottery can also advance imagination, so there is no necessity in playing music. In addition, these hobbies help children to put their feelings to practice.

In a nutshell, I suppose that there should be people who can play musical instruments, but it is not integral for everyone because not everyone is talented or interested in it.
